What is Plate.fit?
Plate.fit is a personalised Indian diet chart app for PCOS, Type 2 diabetes, and thyroid. DataBloom Technologies LLP makes it. This sample is for hypothyroidism and Hashimoto’s. Hyperthyroid needs a different plan in the app. Meals stay Indian — veg, eggetarian, non-veg, or Jain — with iodine, selenium, and cooked goitrogens handled in the plan. Scan a thali for a condition-safe verdict. Take a weekly PDF to your endocrinologist. The chart below is a sample, not your final plan.
Who is this thyroid diet chart for?
- Hypothyroidism, already on thyroxine or a similar tablet.
- Hashimoto’s, with or without a recent antibody report.
- Weight that will not move, or fatigue that food timing might be making worse.
This is nutrition support, not a diagnosis. Diet complements medicine. It does not replace the tablet.
Hyperthyroid is a different plan in the app. Do not use this sample week as a hyperthyroid chart. Open Plate.fit, pick hyper, and get that plan — this page stays hypo and Hashimoto’s first.
If insulin and fasting sugar are the bigger fight, see the Type 2 diabetes diet chart. If cycles and PCOS are the issue, use the PCOS diet chart.
7-day Indian thyroid diet chart (hypo + Hashimoto’s, veg-flexible sample)
This is a sample 7-day Indian diet chart for hypothyroidism and Hashimoto’s, not your final plan. Calories run a little lower if hypo and weight is the issue — the app sets that from metabolic rate. Selenium and iodine sit in the food. Goitrogens are cooked, not raw.
Veg is the default reading of the table (paneer, dal, roti). Eggs and fish appear as labelled swaps. Jain notes sit under the table.
| Day | Breakfast | Lunch | Snack | Dinner |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mon | 2 eggs bhurji + 1 multigrain roti (or paneer bhurji) | 2 roti + dal + cooked gobhi sabzi + salad | Pumpkin seeds + 2 dates | Fish curry (coastal) or paneer + sautéed veg |
| Tue | Dahi + soaked almonds + 1 banana (small) + flax | Bajra roti (2) + rajma + beans sabzi | Brazil nuts (2) or sunflower seeds | Moong khichdi (1 katori) + kadhi |
| Wed | Vegetable omelette or besan chilla | Jowar roti + palak dal + cooked cabbage sabzi | Coconut chutney + cucumber | 1 roti + mixed veg + curd |
| Thu | Ragi porridge in milk + cinnamon | 2 roti + chole + carrot-beans (cooked) + chaas | Trail mix (nuts + 1 fig) | Grilled fish/tofu + greens |
| Fri | Idli (2) + sambar + coconut chutney | Brown rice (small) + dal + cooked broccoli/gobhi | Ginger-tulsi tea + roasted chana | Palak paneer (low oil) + 1 roti |
| Sat | Eggs or paneer + sautéed spinach | Bajra roti + masoor dal + lauki + salad | Dates (2) + walnuts | Soup + omelette / tofu |
| Sun | Pesarattu or moong chilla | 2 roti + fish/chicken or dal + mixed cooked sabzi | Pumpkin seed chutney + veg sticks | Light khichdi + curd |
Jain: paneer, dal, nuts, cooked sabzi; skip eggs and fish; keep iodized salt.
Eggetarian / non-veg: keep the eggs at breakfast; fish or chicken as labelled. Tofu appears as a swap — go easy on large daily soy (see below).
Goitrogen note: cabbage, gobhi, broccoli are fine cooked. Skip huge raw cabbage salads and broccoli smoothies.
This is what a week looks like in an Indian kitchen. Yours is built in the app in two minutes.
Thyroid medicine and food timing
The tablet comes first. The chart comes after.
- Take thyroxine at the same time daily, empty stomach.
- Wait 30–60 minutes before breakfast. Coffee and tea after that wait, not with the tablet.
- Keep calcium and iron supplements several hours away from the tablet. Confirm the gap with your doctor — this page does not set your dose or your clock.
- Then eat. Eggs or paneer bhurji, ragi porridge, idli-sambar: the breakfast column starts after the wait.
If the morning chai lands on the tablet, the food plan is already fighting you.
What to eat for hypothyroidism (and what to go easy on)
Eat more: eggs, iodized salt, dairy if tolerated, pumpkin seeds, fish, cooked sabzi, nuts.
Iodine from iodized salt and fish. Selenium from eggs, Brazil nuts, sunflower seeds. Zinc-adjacent kitchen food: pumpkin seeds, dal, rajma. Cooked gobhi and cabbage stay on the plate. That is the point of cooking them.
Go easy: raw crucifers in bulk, excess soy milk/tofu, very high caffeine, ultra-processed food. Gluten: only if Hashimoto’s and your doctor agrees — this chart does not put everyone on gluten-free.
A broccoli smoothie is not a health upgrade here. Gobhi sabzi is. Daily litres of soy milk are the soy problem, not a cube of tofu in a mixed dinner. Scan the plate if you are unsure.
How Plate.fit personalises this thyroid diet chart
Plate.fit is the product. This page is the sample — hypo and Hashimoto’s. Hyperthyroid is a different plan in the app.
- Condition first. Thyroid type sets the rules. Calories account for metabolic rate, often lower in hypothyroidism. Iodine, selenium, and cooked goitrogens are baked into the week.
- Your kitchen. Veg, eggetarian, non-veg, or Jain. Regional Indian food: dal, roti, sabzi, idli, thali. Keep iodized salt on Jain plates too.
- Smart swaps. Do not like today’s sabzi? Swap for a nutritionally equivalent option that still fits hypo / Hashimoto’s rules.
- AI meal scanner. Point the camera at a thali. Calories, GI, macros, and a condition-safe verdict in seconds. The app flags goitrogens. Edit portions before you log.
- Weekly PDF your endocrinologist can actually read. Adherence, macros, symptom trends — export it for the next visit.
Start from this 7-day chart. The app writes the one for your tablet schedule and kitchen.

Can thyroid patients eat rice and roti?
Yes. Rice and roti are fine for hypothyroidism in controlled portions — they do not have to leave the plate.
Hypothyroid metabolism is often slower, so the katori is smaller, not forbidden. This sample uses 1–2 rotis at lunch, less at dinner, and a small serving of rice or khichdi on some days. Pair with dal and cooked sabzi. Plate.fit sets the amount from your weight, activity, and metabolic rate.
Should I avoid cabbage and cauliflower?
No. You do not need to avoid cabbage and cauliflower if they are cooked.
Raw cabbage salads and broccoli smoothies are the ones to skip. Cooking reduces the goitrogen effect. This chart uses cooked gobhi sabzi, cooked cabbage, and cooked broccoli. Scan the plate if you are unsure — Plate.fit flags goitrogens.
Does diet alone fix thyroid?
No. Diet does not fix thyroid on its own and it does not replace thyroxine.
Food supports energy, iodine, selenium, and weight next to your tablet. Take medicine on an empty stomach, wait 30–60 minutes, then eat. If you have hyperthyroidism, you need a different plan in the app — this sample is for hypo and Hashimoto’s.
Soy and thyroid?
Go easy on soy milk and tofu in large amounts; a small serving is not the same as a daily litre of soy milk.
Excess soy is on the go-easy list for this chart. Jain and veg plates can still use dal, paneer, and nuts as the protein. Confirm with your endocrinologist if you drink soy daily.
Why am I not losing weight on medicine?
Thyroxine treats the hormone gap; it is not a weight-loss drug, so the scale may not move until calories, protein, and meal timing match a slower metabolism.
This sample is a starting chart, not your calorie number. Plate.fit adjusts calories for thyroid using metabolic rate, which is often lower in hypothyroidism. Keep calcium and iron supplements hours away from the tablet, as your doctor advised. Results vary.
